These are the terms and conditions under which ‘’Skivalakis’’ Sole Proprietorship (‘Skivalakis’’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) and our website/e-shop www.skivalakis.gr (‘’the Site’’, ‘’the e-shop’’) provide services and supplies goods to you.
‘’Skivalakis’’ has been active for 60 years in retail operations in the field of home interior and exterior decoration articles and shading goods. Our business operations include timber trade, sale of furniture materials, and metal hardware, design, production and sale of frames, sale of folding doors, wallpapers, paintings, mirrors, ornaments, and fireplace implements.
‘’Skivalakis’’ (retail) is located and has its registered office at 3-5 Chrysostomou street, Heraklion, Crete, Greece, P.C. 71306. The business’s tax identification number (TIN) is 046500571 and its registered number is 76390027000.

You should read these terms and conditions (‘the Terms’) carefully before using this Site which operates at www.skivalakis.gr and/or submitting your order to us. By using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy and Cookie Policies, as they may be modified and posted on this Site from time to time without notice to you. Please make sure you regularly check for updates. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms you may not use the Site.
We provide visitors/users of the Site www.skivalakis.gr an array of e-commerce services, in accordance with the provisions of Greek and EU law on e-commerce & consumer protection (Directive 2000/31/EC on electronic commerce and Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer protection). The existing and any new services included in the Site are subject to these Terms, unless explicitly stated.
‘’Skivalakis’’ operates social media accounts on both Facebook (‘’Σκυβαλάκης περί σκίασης και διακόσμησης’’) and Instagram (“Skivalakis_skiasi_diakosmisi”) and these Terms also apply to the correspondent webpages. We may interact with you through social media. However, we cannot control those social media platforms, the terms under which they provide services to you, and/or how you set your profiles on them. Please check the Terms & Conditions and Policies found on those webpages and set your privacy settings so that you understand and are comfortable with how they operate and how your personal information on those platforms will be used.
Www.skivalakis.gr and all services provided to you through this Site/e-shop are only targeted/available to residents of Greece. You are welcome to visit or navigate but you should not make use of any of the services of the Site/e-shop if you reside outside Greece.
- AGE RESTRICTIONS
To use our services you must be 15 years of age or older. If you are 15 or older but under 18 years of age, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to accept the Terms, and place an order eligible for cash on delivery or cash upon receipt. You must also be able to provide us with proof of parental consent upon delivery of ordered goods to you. In order to use any other online or cashless payment method, you must be over 18 years of age.
Users under 15 years of age are not allowed to create a Member’s Account.
3.SERVICE AVAILABILITY
While we make every effort to ensure that the Site is available, we do not warrant in any way the Site’s continued availability at all times or the uninterrupted use by you of the Site. We reserve the right to suspend or cease the operation of the Site from time to time at our sole discretion without giving advance notice.
5.CONDITIONS OF USE
As a condition of your use of the Site, you agree:
- not to use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful under applicable law or prohibited by these Terms;
- not to defame or disparage anybody in a manner which is obscene, racist, derogatory or offensive;

Visitors, users and customers of www.skivalakis.gr must not misuse or tamper with our Site, apps or other services (e.g. hack, introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other technologically harmful material or carry out denial of service attacks etc.) or otherwise disorganize our payments technology or functionality or extract our customers’ data. Any of these actions may be a criminal offence, but they impede us providing our best service, therefore we will report any such breach or activity to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
You are not allowed to use automated systems or software to extract data from our Site (‘data scraping’).
If you do not comply with any part of these Terms or any applicable law we reserve:
– the right to prevent or suspend your access to the Site;
– the right to take legal action or exercise any other legal remedy;
– the right to compensation for any damage suffered by us because of the unlawful conduct.
5.SUBSCRIPTION TO NEWSLETTER & CREATION OF MEMBER ACCOUNT
By subscribing to our Newsletter you consent to receive e-mail from us. The aim of our Newsletter service is to keep our customers and visitors updated about our products, services and promotions.
The subscription to our newsletter service is not mandatory and every user of www.skivalakis.gr can make use of it be them visitors or registered members the Site. You can subscribe to our newsletter service by entering your e-mail address in the “Subscribe to our Newsletter” box on the homepage.
You will be able to delete your subscription anytime, by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any e-mail sent to you by us.
Www.skivalakis.gr also provides users with membership services, after accepting the Terms of the Site, the Privacy and Cookie Policies and completion of their registration. Click on the ‘’Create an Account’’ link on the homepage (or on the submission of your order page) and follow the instructions to complete the registration process. Completion of the registration process requires that the user: a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about the data requested by www.skivalakis.gr and b) maintain and thoroughly update the registration data to keep true, accurate, reliable, current and complete.
Members enjoy discounts and special offers on products and get promo codes from time to time.
Members remain solely responsible for all activities that occur under their personal password, name, and generally use of their account (user account).
You will be able to delete your account anytime, by clicking on the “Delete my Account” link at the bottom of your account page.
We will not communicate / spread / publish or otherwise give away your personal information you provided to us at the time of subscription to the Newsletter or creation of your Member Account.
Members agree to immediately notify us for any unauthorized use of their account and any action and/or potential security breach. Also, members are solely responsible for the careful use of their account and formal exit from their account at the end of each session (Logout). We are not responsible for any damage or breakage resulting from your negligent behaviour or management of your Member Account.
Users/members understand and accept that www.skivalakis.gr reserves the exclusive right to discontinue the use of access codes to services and/or to discontinue the availability of content in case they violate any of the Terms or applicable laws
6. PLACING & CANCELLING AN ORDER
If you are interested in any of our products and wish to purchase it, please follow our instructions on how to place an order.
Before submitting an order note that images and pictures of goods on our website are for illustrative purposes. We take great care to display colours but we cannot guarantee a device’s display will be completely accurate. Goods may vary slightly.
Order online:
- Click on the product that you are interested in.
- You can change the colour or the size of the product (if available) by clicking on the respective thumbnail.
- Click on the “ADD TO BASKET” button on the right.
- Now you can continue shopping or check your shopping basket’s contents, by clicking on the basket icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- When you click on the shopping basket’s icon, its content will show up on the right. If you want to buy all of the items, click on the “Submit Order” button.
You can also add the product(s) you are interested in to the “Wish list” by clicking on the relevant button and purchase them at another time. Note that you must be a registered user for the product to be saved on the list and that we do not guarantee that the product will be available for you to buy (out of stock) at the time you decide to proceed to the purchase.
- In the shopping basket’s preview you can see a list of the products you have chosen, together with their quantity and price.
If you want to remove a product from the basket, click on the “x” on the right side of the price. If you want to change the quantity, click on the‘’ +/- ‘’ button next to the quantity and wait for a moment. In a short while, the shopping cart will be updated.
- To continue, click “Submit Order”.
- If you are a registered customer, please sign in. If you are not, you can sign up by clicking on “CREATE AN ACCOUNT”. You can also place an order as a guest (without registration) by clicking on “CONTINUE WITHOUT REGISTRATION”.
- Enter your shipping details by filling in all fields marked with an “*”. Click on the ‘’Receipt’’ or ‘’Invoice’’ box to select the document you need to be issued on your purchase.
If you wish to receive a VAT invoice, please enter your TIN number (Tax Identification Number) and the name of your company/business.
If you are a registered customer, your shipping details may be filled in automatically.
If you have a promo code, enter in the ‘’Insert your promo code’’ box and click “APPLY”. If the code is correct, the price will be reduced. If the price does not change, please check the promotion’s rules and conditions and make sure that it applies to the items in your cart.
- After logging in, signing up or entering shipping details, please select your preferred payment method and delivery/shipping method.

- If you select to pay via credit or debit card, please make sure that you are the holder of the card you use to complete the transaction otherwise your order may not be approved. If you have opted for credit/debit card or PayPal payment, continue by filling your card/account details in the fields marked with an ‘’ * ‘’. Payments with credit/debit card are completed by redirecting the customer to the PIRAEUS BANK secure environment. We never process or store any kind of information related to the customer’s credit or debit card.
- If you select an online payment method (credit or debit card, bank transfer using web banking, PayPal) we only accept your order once payment has been approved (your card is debited or the money is transferred to our bank account).
If you select “cash on delivery” payment method, your order will be immediately processed and you will see the order’s summary. In this case all products remain our property until full payment of the purchase price is received by us or an authorized courier-employee as the case may be.
- After you choose your preferred delivery/shipping & payment methods, agree to have your personal data processed (according to our Privacy Policy & Cookie Policy) and agree to the Terms and Conditions, click on the “Order and pay” button.
Should you wish, type a comment regarding your order in the ‘’Leave a Comment’’ box.
- After completion of payment check your mailbox (including spam folder) – you should receive an order confirmation e-mail.
- All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price. Very occasionally, we may need to refuse or cancel an order. The most common reasons an order might be canceled are:
– Limits on available quantities;
– The item is out of stock;
– Price or other listing errors;
– Additional information is needed by our Accounts department;
– Unavailable carrier or shipping method;
– Unusual activity on an account;
We will contact you within 2 business days if any part of your order is canceled or if we need more information to process your order. If part of your order is cancelled and you cannot be reached within 2 business days, we will cancel your order as a whole.
If your order is canceled, you will not be charged. If your payment transaction has been completed, we will refund you (except for shipping and delivery charges).
Telephone order
Our Customer Service Team will be able to receive your order over the phone in most cases. We write down the complete order or enter it into a computer, then we send it back to you by post or e-mail, and we only process it only upon reception of your written confirmation of the order.
This service is available by calling +30 2810 241124: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday: 9.00 – 15.00, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 9.00 – 14.00 & 17.00 -21.00.
The items added in your shopping bag will only be secured for you after payment has been taken and your items have been shipped.
To the extent necessary and legally authorized, communications are recorded for the purposes of providing evidence and security of transaction.
We never process or store any kind of information related to the customer’s credit or debit card.
Cancel an order
You can cancel items or orders that have not entered shipping process yet. To do so please contact us by phone: +30 2810 241124, or by e-mail : [email protected] the soonest possible after submission of your order.
Cancelled orders:
In addition to other reasons stated elsewhere in these Terms, the most common reasons we might cancel an order are:
- Limits on available quantities
- The item is out of stock
- Price or other listing errors
- Additional information is needed by our Credit department
- Unavailable carrier or shipping method
- We detect an unauthorised, illegitimate, fraudulent use of our Site and services
We will notify you if any part of your order is canceled or if we need more information to process your order.
If your order is canceled, you will not be charged.
7.PRICES
Prices (which include any applicable VAT or other sales tax) will be as indicated on the order pages when you place your order. We make our best efforts to ensure that prices stated are correct but occasionally goods may be incorrectly priced. If we discover an error for any goods you have ordered, we will get in touch with you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order (at the correct price) or cancelling it.
If we cannot get in touch with you withing 2 business days, we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid, we will refund you in full.
Total amount payable includes all shipping and handling charges. In addition, you remain responsible for any taxes that may be applicable to your (bank or other type of) Transactions.
We reserve the right to change the prices and availability of products and services. Any change will be effective upon upload on our website.
8.CONTRACT & PAYMENT
Your order is only considered accepted, and a contract formed between us, when you submit your order and you receive an order confirmation from us.
Accepted payment methods include:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa cards, MasterCard)
If you opt for credit card payment, you will also be provided with the option of payment in 6 interest-free installments.

III. PayPal
When payments are made using an online payment method offered by PayPal, handling of payments takes place via the payment service provider PayPal (Europe) and are subject to the PayPal terms of use over which we have no control.
- Cash on delivery,
- Collect on delivery (applicable for transactions by credit or debit cards and other forms of cashless payment on delivery).
Cash on delivery and collect on delivery methods are only available for purchased items either delivered to you by a courier company or if you opt for the ‘click and collect’ process.
As regards online payment methods, we only accept your order once payment has been approved (amounts reserved on cards or displayed in our bank account after completion of order so the funds should be available at the point of dispatch).We may also take PayPal payments at the point of order.
All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price. Should there be an issue with an order, we will get in touch with you.
All products remain Skivalakis’ property until full payment of the purchase price is received.
9. DELIVERY & SHIPPING
We only deliver goods in Greece. We do not accept orders for addresses outside these territories.
“Www.skivalakis.gr” offers free shipping for orders over 200 €.
You will be clearly informed of the total price for your purchase, including delivery and other related costs at the time of payment.
All products are insured against further damage that may occur in transit. We are responsible for any damage to your goods from the time they are dispatched until you receive them. Therefore, if when you receive something that you ordered, you discover your goods are faulty or do not work as they should, you are entitled to ask for repair, replacement, or, where neither is possible, you can ask for a price reduction or refund. More details can be found in Section: 11. ‘’GUARANTEES’’.
All goods shipped by us wrapped in excellent condition. Upon delivery of your order, you should check that the goods you receive match the ones you ordered, and sign the delivery documents necessary. Moreover, you should check that the delivered goods are in excellent condition and if not, you should contact us within 48 hours of receipt. Otherwise, delivered goods will not be eligible for return.
Before you finalise your order, you will be given various delivery options to choose from with estimated delivery time and dates depending on the delivery address.
The items you order are always available for you to collect at our physical store located at: 3-5 Chrysostomou street, 71306, Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
For orders for home delivery of small items up to 1.5 m. long and/or up to 25kg, we use “ELTA Porta-Porta” courier services. Payment-on-delivery is charged an additional cost of 1.90 €/delivery.
For orders for home delivery of large items longer than 1.5 m. and/or heavier than 25kg, we use transport agency services. In this case shipping costs are calculated depending on the size of the item ordered and delivery destination. Transport of bulky or long items to floors higher than the ground floor is not available.
If you wish to use a courier company or transport agency of your choice, all transport and shipping costs will be passed on to you. Additionally, you bear responsibility for any damage to your goods from the time they are dispatched until you receive them.
Note that we do not provide assembly or installation services.
If you have selected delivery at home, we should deliver the ordered items to you within 30 days – unless we specifically agreed on a different delivery time. Delivery times cannot be guaranteed. While we make our best efforts to meet all delivery times, sometimes there may be delays – e.g. because of postal/carrier delays, logistics, holiday season or bad weather. We will keep you updated as much as we can and you should be able to track your parcel’s progress. If these are the circumstances and you don’t receive your goods within 30 days, or within the agreed time, you should remind us giving an additional, reasonable time limit to deliver (e.g. one extra week).
If we still do not deliver within the extended deadline then you are entitled to terminate your contract and be reimbursed as soon as possible. You do not have to give us extra time if we refuse to deliver or when an agreed delivery period is essential.
Failed delivery attempt:
A failed delivery attempt means that the courier driver/ transport agency tried to deliver a parcel to you, but the delivery was not successful because you were absent and there was no one else at the address to receive the parcel. In most cases, you will find a note left by the driver/agency notifying you about the attempt and the failed delivery. Contact the courier company/transport agency to arrange a new delivery. Note that in failed deliveries we are not responsible for any damage to your goods until you receive them.
In case of failed delivery attempt of cash-on-delivery purchase, you should contact the courier company/transport agency and agree to collect or have the item(s) delivered within 4 business days of failed delivery. If this deadline is not met, we reserve the right to cancel your order.
Delivery of wrong item(s) – Packages that have been tampered with – Missing item(s)
If your delivery contains the wrong item(s), or the wrong quantity, then you have the right to a replacement. You should contact us as soon as possible to see what the next steps are. The same applies for parcels that have been tampered with upon delivery and good(s) is/are missing. In the latter case you can always refuse delivery. You will be asked to return the items that have been delivered incorrectly to us to resolve the issue. You do not have to pay the delivery costs for returning the incorrect item(s).
10.RETURNS & REFUNDS
In the EU you have the right to return purchases made online or through other types of distance selling within 14 days for a refund. You can do so for any reason and without justification – even if you simply changed your mind.
The 14-day cooling off period does not apply to goods made to order or clearly personalized. Some of the exempted goods are: tailor-made shading systems, ceiling elements, custom-made and/or painted curtain rods, door knocks, handles, folding doors, frames, fireplace tools, ornaments etc. The list is not exhaustive.
All returned items should be sent back to us in their original condition together with the original packaging, brand tags and documents included in the parcel.
All items are inspected on return.
If an item is returned to us worn, used, damaged, in an unsalable condition, does not match what we sent you, or where the above instructions have not been followed, we will not be able to give you a refund and we may have to send it back to you and ask you to cover the delivery costs. Alternatively, we (at our sole discretion) may choose to reduce your refund to reflect any reduction in the value of an item.
The cooling off period expires 14 days after the day you received your goods. If the cooling off period expires on a non-working day, your deadline is extended till the next working day. We do not accept returns for unwanted items after the relevant return period described above. If you try to make a return, we may have to send it back to you and ask you to cover the delivery costs.
In case you want to cancel your purchase, you should inform us. It is not enough just to send the goods back. You can inform us and send back your goods at the same time, by either writing us a letter describing the goods that you are returning (product code and product description), or by filling the ‘’Model Withdrawal Form’’ which is available at the last page of this document. Sent either of these to us by post or courier, or e-mail. If you do so by e-mail please write ‘’WITDRAWAL’’ in the subject line.
If you meet the return conditions, we will refund the amount of your products value, the same way you made the original transaction (credit card, bank account deposit, PayPal), except for transactions where this cannot apply (e.g. cash on delivery), for which refund will take place to a bank account of yours. You must provide us in writing of the respective bank account details.
We will give you a refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request. However, we may delay refunding you if we have not received the goods or evidence that you have returned them. Make sure you get proof of postage and keep hold of it in case we need to see it later.
Your refund will not include any shipping charges you paid when you made your purchase, nor cash-on-delivery charges, nor delivery costs if you specifically requested non-standard delivery (such as express delivery or a different courier company to the one we use).
You will also be charged the full cost of returning the goods back to us. For bulky goods (such as large items or furniture), you will be informed of the cost of returning your order.

11.DAMAGED / FAULTY GOODS – GUARANTEES
You always have the right to a minimum 2-year guarantee at no cost, regardless of whether you bought your goods online, in our shop or by mail order. The 2-year guarantee period starts as soon as you receive your goods.
If goods you bought turn out to be faulty or do not look or work as advertised, you have the following rights:
– the right to have them repaired or replaced free of charge if repair is impossible,
– the right to a price reduction or a full refund (only when it is not possible to repair or replace the goods).You might not be entitled to a refund if the problem is minor.

We are committed to providing a high standard of service to all our customers and treating them fairly. There may be times when you feel we have not lived up to this. If this happens, we would like to hear from you. Letting us know when you are unhappy with the service you experience gives us the opportunity to put things right and to improve our service in future for all. 13.PRIVACY POLICY AND CONSENT
At ‘’Skivalakis’’ we are committed to protecting your privacy. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy and that you agree with them. Visit these Policies for detailed information.
As a data “controller” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we take all measures to preserve the security and confidentiality of data, and in particular to prevent data from being distorted, damaged or unauthorised third parties having access to data.
Our Site operates under an SSL certificate to secure online transactions and keep customer information private and secure. 14.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & OWNERSHIP RIGHTS
This Site and all content within the Site are owned and operated by us and/or our licensors. We and our licensors reserve all rights.
Any intellectual property rights including without limitation all patents, copyright, database rights and trademarks (whether registered or unregistered) subsisting in any content or material on the Site belong to us and/or our licensors. All rights are reserved for the benefit of ourselves and/or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the Site or the content within the Site.
All content, including images, graphics, photographs, texts, logos, brand names, product names, business information, services and all the files on this Site (the list is not exhaustive) are protected under Greek and EU law and international treaties. You are allowed to store, print and display our website content only for your own personal use. Therefore, none of them can be wholly or partially subject to sale, copying, reproduction, republication, downloading, transfer, transmission or distribution in any way unless expressly authorized by us.
